Thanks for working with us! We’re often asked many of the same questions when finalizing a letterpress order. For this reason, we’ve compiled a few helpful topics below to help you understand the general process and hopefully make our collaboration as smooth as possible. Turnaround Time

Our turnaround time can flex depending on how many orders we have in our queue. Generally we try to keep custom orders. like yours, to around three weeks from the day the order is paid for, to the day they are placed in the mail. If you need your cards in time for a specific event, please let us know. We may be able to accommodate a quicker turnaround time depending on the length of our queue and the specifications of your order. Rush orders will most likely involve a rush fee and/or extra costs for expedited shipping.

Shipping (U.S)

We ship all packages within the U.S. through the United States Postal Service. Packaging weighing under a pound are shipped First Class while packages over a pound get shipped Priority. Both services come with a tracking number which will automatically be emailed to you as soon as we purchase postage for your order. Transit time within the U.S. is generally 2-4 days.

Shipping (International)

For orders outside the United States, we give you the option to use DHL or USPS. DHL is more expensive than shipping through USPS, but has much better tracking, a better system for support if packages are lost or delayed, and considerably faster transit times. International transit times with DHL range from 4-7 days depending on the destination. If you choose USPS, transit times are much more unpredictable for destinations outside of the United States. For USPS, expect shipping times between 7-10 days for Canada, 9-17 days for Australia, and 8-19 days in Europe.

Shipping taxes like customs and VAT fees are common in order to receive your package in your country. These fees are ever-changing and complicated for us to charge up front on our end. You are responsible for any additional import taxes that your country charges for stationery items like business cards and writing stationery.

General Shipping Information

We make no attempt to nickel and dime you on shipping and “handling” costs. Our goal is to simply cover our costs on postage while giving you the most reliable and affordable shipping options available to us.

Payment

After we finalize your order, we'll email you a payment link that can be securely paid online via credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay / Google Pay, etc. Once payment is complete, your order will officially be placed and hold its spot in our print queue.

Reorders

We always keep your letterpress plates in the shop for future reorders. Reorders (assuming the original design is unchanged) get 20% off the original price and tend to be fulfilled quicker than a first time order.

Customer Accounts and Credit

If you're a first-time customer, you'll have the option to setup a customer account after checkout (we'll send you an email with instructions). Accounts are not required, but are handy to re-download your approved PDF proofs, request reorders, check your estimated ship date, review the details of past orders, and cash in your accrued account credit.

For every order you make, we credit your account with 5% of the cost of that order as a thank you. Your account credit will accrue with each order until you choose to "cash out" by turning your credit in to a discount code you can use during a future purchase.

Terms and Conditions

Terms

No work will commence until the invoice has been paid in full. If legal action is required to enforce the terms of this agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.

Not Responsible for Content

Hoban Press will print your materials as submitted without alteration. Hoban Press is not responsible for any misspellings, grammatical errors, or errors of any type or nature that are a result of errors in the source materials submitted to Hoban Press. Hoban Press has no obligation to submit proofs to customer or customer’s agents.

No Third Party Beneficiaries

This Agreement is entered into by and between, and may be enforced only by, the parties, and this Agreement shall not be deemed to create any rights in third parties, including suppliers and customers of a party, or to create any obligations of a party to any such third parties.

Force Majeure

Hoban Press shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under this Agreement if prevented from doing so by a cause or causes beyond its control. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, such causes include Acts of God, or the public enemy, fires, floods, storms, earthquakes, riots, strikes, lockouts, acts of terrorism, wars or war operations, restraints of government or other cause or causes which could not with reasonable diligence be controlled or prevented by such party.

Waiver

No waiver of any provision of this Agreement shall be effective unless it is in writing and signed by the party against whom it is sought to be enforced. The delay or failure by either party to exercise or enforce any of its rights under this Agreement shall not constitute or be deemed a waiver of that party’s right thereafter to enforce those rights, nor shall any single or partial exercise of any such right preclude any other or further exercise thereof or the exercise of any other right.

Venue and Governing Law

This Agreement was entered into, performed, and shall be deemed to have been made in the Lewis County, Washington, United States of America, and shall, for all purposes, be governed by and construed under the laws thereof regardless of where any Court action or proceeding is brought in connection with this Agreement. No choice of law rule of any other state, nation, or any other jurisdiction, which would cause any such matter to be referred to the law of any jurisdiction other than Lewis County, Washington, shall be given any force or effect. Customer stipulates that jurisdiction and venue shall lie exclusively the state and federal courts located in Lewis County, Washington for any dispute arising out of this Agreement. Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, all remedies provided for in this Agreement shall be cumulative and in addition to and not in lieu of any other remedies available to either party at law or in equity.
